Portraits for "Working the Boats: Masters of the Craft"

These portraits were photographed for the documentary film "Working the Boats: Masters of the Craft" by Claire Andrade-Watkins.
The film had its World Premiere on June 19, 2016 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

The photographs were exhibited at Providence City Hall in 2013 commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of Local 1329 of the International Longshoremen's Association (I.L.A.) in Providence, the first labor union in New England organized predominantly by Cape Verdeans. Members of Local 1329 longshoremen, their families and descendants are featured in these formal portraits.
